TWO STEPS FOR FAIRER WAGES
They represent the average price increase for lifestyle products (such as fashion items) if living wages were paid.
That's right, you have to take only these two steps!
We take care of the rest.
Our two steps are:
Forwarding the money and
forwarding the statements.
Society's two steps are:
For brands to sign pledges for higher wages - and
for governments and/or industries to implement them.
AN APP FOR FAIR WAGES
We may not want - or be able - to spend a fortune on fashion (or lifestyle) products, but we DO CARE about the workers' wellbeing and ARE WILLING to bear the costs for the payment of living wages - these are on average 50 cents per item.
With FairBuy we make this our statement (and add credibility by forwarding the money!) to encourage the fashion companies to make their statements, too - that is, to pledge to pay living wages. This is necessary to enable unions to negotiate higher wages (or governments, to fix higher minimum wages) without having to fear the loss of their customers, and thereby of their jobs altogether.
This approach has been tested successfully by a few pioneer brands in one country - let's use our statements to encourage more brands to join and all to extend these pledges to more countries!
